Huddle Recap November 5th- Woodbridge HS

Huddle #3 was attended by approximately 185 students.
Answered prayer!  David Hughes, the youth pastor at The Village Church, attended the Huddle and brought with him a portable sound system!  Thank you, David!  What a blessing that sound system is as it raises the energy level and enables everyone in the room to hear our speaker.
Christ-follower and former NFL player Egypt McKee spoke—starting with a falsetto voice that definitely got everyone’s attention.  And he was definitely worth listening to!
·                              It costs to follow Jesus!
·                              Many of us would do well to have a bell dog collar that keeps us from chasing our tail, that keeps us focused only on Christ.
·                               We’re all running around with two words on our t-shirt: “Affirm me!”
·                              Our value is not in what we do but in what Jesus did for us on the cross.
·                              Who do you walk by every day without saying, “Hey! What’s up? My name’s ____”?  Folks like that may wonder, “How can Jesus love me if His followers don’t seem to?”
·                               Life is not about being comfortable; it’s about being available.
·                               How much are you willing to give up to be a Christ follower?
·                               Find an accountability partner!  Get rooted in a church!  Get involved in serving!
·                              Choose to be a slave to Christ. Yes, a slave!  And everyone in this room is already a slave to something!
·                                God loves you.  God knows all your secrets, and He loves you… in spite of yourself.
·         This isn’t a sermon!  I’m lighting a fire under your butt!

Thank you for these families who supported the Huddle with donations of cookies, water, pizza dollars, plates, napkins, time, and/or prayer:  Avazian, Babb, Coyle, Gaultiere, Gibbs, Grijalva, Haney, Hood, Mellor, Meyers, Moore, Prock, Torrey, and Valentine.
And just when we were settling into a pattern…
·         The next Huddle will be on December 3. (There is no school on November 19, which would have been the next date for a WHS Huddle.)
·         An email signup sheet will be sent out Thanksgiving weekend.
·         Reminder: We order and purchase the pizzas on the Friday before the Huddle.  If you are able and willing to support FCA with a pizza donation, please mail a check to Kris Gibbs, 7 East Yale Loop, 92604 right after you sign up so that we have the money we need when we need it!
Happy Thanksgiving—and know that as we count our blessings this year, we are thanking God for your support of FCA at WHS!

Huddle Recap- November 1st- Irvine HS

 FCA Families!!
Here is a quick recap from our huddle last week on November 1st.

Our speaker for the huddle was Jarrod Davidoff.  Jarrod is the founder of  "Save the world foundation."   He is from South Africa and loves to share the gospel!    I had Trent Williams, our FCA Co-President write a quick recap of what Jarrod shared with the kids.....

“This weeks speaker was a guy named Jarrod from South Africa. He told us his amazing story of how he came from a life of sin and found Jesus. Its awesome to see how Jesus can make a broken life into a beautiful story. At the end of his testimony he asked people to raise their hands if they wanted to accept Jesus into their lives. So many people rose their hands. It is such an amazing feeling to know that all the leaders had helped in such a life changing decision.”
It was an awesome huddle....lots students in attendance, lots of pizza and lots of fun!!!

Our Huddles of course could not happen with out the support of our wonderful parents:
Our Pizza sponsor for this huddle was the Searl family.

Baked Goods were lovingly prepared by the Alayra and Kenney families.

Water bottles were provided by the Lee, DeKlotz, Tom and Blevins families.

Thank you, also to all the moms who rolled up their sleeves during their lunch break to help serve water and pizza...
see the attached picture.  We are so grateful for your help as this ministry continues to expand.

As you can see this club is growing and will only stay afloat with all of our help!    If you are able, in these tough times, to donate financially, please send a check made to IHS Athletic Boosters-FCA to:  Jodi Nordstrom, 9 Redrock, Irvine, Ca. 92604.
(Your donations are tax deductible!!)
Most of all, we ask that everyone please pray for this ministry as kids continue to come with a curiosity and a hunger for meaningful inspiration!

THANK YOU PARENTS for your support!!!    Attached are some fun pictures from the day!

Our next Huddle is Thursday, November 15th!!!
Blessings.......

Huddle Recap October 11th -Mater Dei!

Dear FCA parent group,
We are so excited about the amazing first huddle we had at FAM, and are thanking God for all of your incredible sacrifice and support!  We had over 100 kids at the upper lunch huddle, and about 80 at the lower lunch huddle, great numbers for the first meetings.  The kids heard an amazing talk, and were encouraged by being together and feeling welcomed.  I can only imagine what God will do this year with such a great start, so many awesome new, young leaders, and a parent support team so willing to help.  We know without a doubt that each student who walked in the doors was encouraged by God's word and reminded that God waits to reach out a hand to help us up!  Yess!!!

Thank you so much Devon, Trisha, Sandy, Juliet, Elizabeth, Stacey, Mary Anne, and Mindy for your helping hands, water, and precious home-baked treats!  Thank you Kathleen for getting us off to such a great start, and of course Jared for your leadership and enthusiasm and contagious love for our kids and Jesus.  I am so pumped to see what God is going to unfold at Mater dei FAM!

Huddle Recap- October 11th-Beckman!

Hello Parents!

We had our first Huddle in the school gym last Thursday. We had about 200 students come hear Creg Darby from Free Chapel Church speak about Christ. There were a number of students who prayed to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. Many of the students took home free Bibles and filled out prayer request cards asking that the FCA students could pray for them.

The pizza was donated by the Korb and Mannas families. Thank you to the many families who helped set up and serve pizza. Thank you, to those of you who donated cookies for the students! They were eagerly devoured!

Please pray about being involved with FCA. Would you consider donating a portion or even all of the pizzas for one of the Huddles? The next one is 10/25.

Blessings,
