Foothill Huddle Recap 12/5

Dear Foothill FCA Parents and Supporters,

Thank you for your help in feeding the huge crowd that came to hear Nate Schwegman speak in the cafeteria last Wednesday, December 5th!
If your kids are the talkative type, they certainly shared with you how amazing the Huddle was!  Nate spoke with a passion that had the students keyed in from the very start!  This young man shared about his life of money, sex, drug and alcohol abuse.  A life he thought he was living to the fullest even though he'd accepted Christ as his Savior as a young child.  A terrible car accident, a hard look at his life and the realization that he wasn't being fulfilled living his way brought him back to Christ.
But he told the kids, "being a Christian doesn't mean things will be easy."  Shortly after re-dedicating his life, Nate was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma.  He recovered only to fight stage 4 melanoma!   "What would you do if you had only one year to live?" Nate challenged.  He showed the students his x-rays outlining the several cancerous growths in his body--the cancer that was going to take his life in 6 to 12 months!  God, however, had different plans, and after a miraculous healing from his excruciating pain, Nate's next x-rays in April of 2011 showed his body was cancer free!!

The kids were deeply
effected by this story, and Nate asked those who wanted the Christ who changes lives and gives hope, to raise their hands!  All joined in a prayer for salvation, and Nate closed with a special prayer for those currently going through major difficulties in their lives.

This was another powerful Huddle!  Thank you for your prayers!  There were some challenges faced to pull this one off, but God is faithful, and He certainly blessed the students (and the parents) who came!

Please continue to pray for the FCA student leadership as they are on the front lines working out their salvation daily.  Pray also for our new believers to get connected with a church group or Bible study so they can grow in wisdom and strength.  What a great time of year to know the One who gives hope and still performs miracles!

Blessings to you all!

Woodbridge Huddle Recap-12/3

How can you follow a rousing game of "Simon Says"?

With a great message from New Song's youth pastor!...

Not raised in a Christian home, Mike talked about hearing "God loves you" from time to time before he gave his life to Christ at the age of eighteen.

"God loves you"... No one can convince us of this truth. We may know it in our head, but that's very different from feeling it in our heart. We need to experience God's love, but sometimes hearts are hard and walls are high.

Mike shared the story of Matt... Ask your favorite pizza-eating, FCA-attending Warrior to fill in the details, but after an accident, Mike and Matt ended up in a God-ordained and God-guided conversation. At one point Matt confessed--with tears--that he didn't have friends, he wasn't very good at school, he was kinda fat, he wished he were better at sports... Hear Matt's answer when Mike asked him "If you could have one thing, what would it be?"  Matt's response: "For someone to really love me."

We trust that God used Mike's telling of Matt's story to bless students in that room who are also looking for someone/Someone to really love them.

Thank you for all you do so faithfully to enable FCA to love on the WHS kids!

Special thanks to the Huddle #4 team of Mellor, Prock, Haney, Hood, Van Peursem, Klopfer, Greenberg, Torrey, Werderman, Coyle, Suiste, Moore, and Gaultiere!

Huddle #5 will be on Monday, December 17, right before we break for Christmas!

With gratitude to God for each of you!

Irvine High-Huddle Recap-11/15

Our last huddle went extremely well. The speaker was Bryce Turi from Calvary Chapel. He was very relatable to all high school students, especially the ones who might have a drug or alcohol problem. It was amazing hearing how he early he got into all these bad habits, such as stealing and drinking. The even more amazing part was when Bryce told us that he quit by finding Jesus. We have been having a lot of students attending the huddles this year, which is very encouraging for all the leaders. It makes me feel like we have an impact with over 200 people coming to see what we put together. Our games committee put together a few “minute-to-win-it” games which are always fun to play as well as watch. It was our first huddle this year with Jared not in attendance and I believe it went very well.

After speaking to the kids, Bryce informed all of us that he and His family are moving to South Africa to be missionaries, in fact they are already there.   I am sure he would love for all of us to keep them in our prayers.
I attached a photos from our last huddle)
