Huddle Recap Woodbridge High Oct 8th 2012

To God be the glory!

·       *  Approximately 170 students attended today’s FCA Huddle, the first of the 2012-13 school year.
·       *  Jared Hall welcomed the students: “You’re at FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. You don’t have to be an athlete; you don’t have to be a Christian. We’re just glad you’re here!”
·       *  Creg Darby of Free Chapel Church in Irvine kicked off the new school year by challenging the students to be game-changers in their classmates’ lives.   Like Peter and John in Acts 3, we believers may not have silver or gold or answers for hurting people, but we can share Jesus with those around us who are hurting and broken.  “When you take our eyes off yourselves and look at others,” Creg continued, “you can change this school!”
·       *  Many thanks to the following families who supported the Huddle with donations of cookies, water, pizza dollars, plates, napkins, time, and/or prayer:  Avazian, Babb, Coyle, Culbertson, Davis, Gaultiere, Gibbs, Greenberg, Guest, Haney, Klopfer, Link, Mellor, Moore, Prock, Suiste, Torrey, Valentine.
·       *  Next Monday watch for a signup sheet for Huddle #2, to be held 10/22/12.
·       *  And please join us for an FCA Dessert on Wednesday evening, 10/24/12, from 7:30-8:30.  Meet Jared, learn about FCA, and hear about the eternal impact this ministry has on students’ lives! We’ll be meeting at the Guests’, 37 Bloomdale in Woodbridge, 92614. Please RSVP so we have enough dessert for everyone!
·       *  Please let WHS freshman parents know about the FCA Dessert!  With built-in attrition in FCA parent support (our kids do graduate!!!), we need to be sure to share the vision with the parents of incoming freshmen and other newcomers to FCA!

Huddle Recap-Irvine High October 4th 2012

                                  Good Evening FCA Families!!
I just wanted to share with all of you how awesome our first IHS Huddle of the year was.  It was our LARGEST group of students in attendance...ever... with well over 200 students in attendance!!  We were a little short on pizza, so next time we will have extras!!

Your continued generosity will make it possible for us to be continue to provide the students with hot pizza, homemade treats and a drink... all while hearing an inspirational message.

Our speakers for this huddle were our CO-Presidents of the FCA Leadership team, Trent Williams and Sara Nordstrom.   Trent and Sara shared a little bit about themselves and then shared their “story” with the students.  It was very inspiring!
Our Huddles of course could not happen with out the support of our wonderful parents:
Our Pizza sponsor for this huddle was the Gottschalk family.

Baked Goods were lovingly prepared by the Alayra, Hobbs and Kenney families.

Water bottles were provided by the Garmon and Salerno families.

Our amazing sound system is provided by the Alayra family.

Thank you, also to all the moms who rolled up their sleeves during their lunch break to help serve water and pizza...
see the attached picture.  We are so grateful for your help as this ministry continues to expand.

As you can see this club is growing and will only stay afloat with all of our help!    If you are able, in these tough times, to donate financially, please send a check made to IHS Athletic Boosters-FCA to:  Jodi Nordstrom, 9 Redrock, Irvine, Ca. 92604.
(Your donations are tax deductible!!)
If you are able to donate waters or baked good on the day of the Huddle, please email me.  You can either drop them off at the school gym the day of the huddle or beforehand at my house.  If you are able to help serve these hungry students, please show up at the gym at 11:30 on the day of the Huddle.   And most of all, we ask that everyone please pray for this ministry as kids continue to come with a curiosity and a hunger for meaningful inspiration!

THANK YOU PARENTS for your support!!!    Attached are some fun pictures from the day!

Our next Huddle is Thursday, October 18th!!!
Blessings.......
